Speaking of concerts, I saw Soundgarden last night on a whim. It was their first concert appearance since the 90s. In the recent past, concerts had brought to mind jostling, crowds, expensive tickets, and having to stand up for interminable amounts of time…in other words, all things negative. But attending last night was really enjoyable and helped me to recall why I liked attending them in the first place. Although you can’t pick out the technical details in live music that you can while listening to the recorded version, music played live best expresses its spirit and energy.

it also helps when you have LOVED the band for over a decade and this was the first time going, and then they played nothing but classics
